NOTES FROM THE EDGE
Forth Valley
Music

With a laid-back rootsy sound, stunning harmonies and original songs that resonate, the music of Closer from the Edge takes mental health recovery to a musical space, bringing their audience firmly with them. Why not pull up a chair, pour yourself a drink, sit back and sip on their mellow sounds? This Artlink Central-supported band evoke just the right mix of emotion and toe-tapping.

This gig is hosted by the Stirling’s newest music spot, The Junk Rooms, which began as an art led initiative - a creative and inspiring space to showcase the work of artists both locally and worldwide. With paintings, antiques, quirky prints and photographs on display, there is barely a blank space on the walls. Artwork is for sale at an affordable price. The large turnover of artistic work means the decor is always fresh, diverse and eclectic. The art however is not the only thing for sale. Everything, from the tables and chairs to the teacups is available for purchase. Supported by Stirling Council.  http://thejunkrooms.co.uk

A SCONE, A SONG AND A SWALLY O’ TEA
Forth Valley
Music

Artlink Central in partnership with NHS Forth Valley, is hosting this very special concert with singer-songwriter Bruce Davies. The audience will be elderly NHS Forth valley patients and staff, care home residents and dementia support groups from across Central Scotland.

Under the theme of Dreams and Memories, Bruce Davies will sing traditional songs, old favourites and take requests for songs that he has shared with patients in their hospital wards. These are songs he performed while delivering music and memory-based Artlink Central projects aimed at increasing concentration and focus, particularly with patients with cognitive impairment. A chance to join in with favourite songs and have a dance at this celebratory event.
