‘Barbour family in Atlas Mountains’

Background:
Lucy Poett was introduced to working with clay under the tuition of Cubit Bevis at The Heatherley School of Art in London. She later studied sculpture under the late Scott Sutherland RSA at the Dundee College of Art. She then worked in London from a studio in Chelsea doing Portrait Heads in Bronze. She is an Associate of The Royal Society of British Sculptors and a member of the Society of Women Artists, and of Visual Art Scotland.
Her work has been exhibited many times at the Royal Scottish Academy. Her life-size bronze memorial of Sandy Irvine Robertson stands outside the Malmaison Hotel on The Shore in Leith.
Influences:
Following a period of realizing works in bronze, she developed her talent in drawing animals in pencil. Her media repertoire includes oil paintings and portraits as well as sculptures.
Exhibitions & Collections:
She has exhibited at several London Galleries and in Scotland, New York and Australia. Oil portraits have been regularly exhibited at The Royal Society of Portrait Painters Exhibitions in London.
